Introduction

LASEC offers training courses for CUHK reseachers engaged in biomedical research, these training courses are designed to improve various animal skills and procedures  and thus support animal welfare. These courses are open to all reseachers and students with appropriate AEEC protocol approval and a Form 2 License from the Department of Health (DOH).

Courses can be tailored for specific project needs, and can include lectures or hands-on workshops.
Lectures typically last 1.5 to 2 hours, while hands-on workshops take approximately 2-3 hours.

The  Training and Eduction Officer for  LASEC is a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, a Registered Laboratory Animal Technologist (LATG) with the American Association of Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS), and currently completing her Master Degree in Laboratory Animal Science and Welfare from the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona. She is responsible for the training of researchers and coordinates with other LASEC team members to support the training.
