Rederivation

Rederivation via embryo transfer has been demonstrated to be an effective technique to ’clean up’ a mouse colony known to be infected with viruses, parasites, and bacteria. Rederivation via embryo transfer involves the aseptic collection of embryos from superovulated, donor females and the surgical transfer to specific pathogen free (SPF) pseudopregnant  females for gestation to term.
